Pine Township HOA Community Bridges
To complete their walking trails, the community needed bridges that would blend into the scenic site and hold up during all four seasons.
Challenge
Walkability and the outdoors are big deals for the residents within this homeowners association in a park-like setting. Their walking trails needed bridges that were aesthetically pleasing to enhance the trail experience. In addition, they needed a cost-effective solution that would last for decades under the high heat of Pennsylvania summers and the intense cold and snow weight of their winters.
Solution
The association reached out to Protocol LLC, known for building paved trails, parks and bridges around the greater Pittsburgh area. After assessing the situation, Protocol recommended ReadySeries pedestrian bridges because of the combination of strength, beauty and durability. The association agreed, appreciating that the FRP materials in a ReadySeries bridge could handle all climate changes, are resistant to insects and wouldn’t require any maintenance.
Working with Bedford, Protocol ordered two ReadySeries truss bridges, one 50′ x 6′ and the other 45′ x 6′. The short timeframe from ordering through delivery impressed Protocol, as did the ease of installation. Because the experience was satisfying and their clients were greatly pleased with the results, Protocol plans additional ReadySeries bridge projects with Bedford.
