What is ReadySeries?

+

ReadySeries is a system of ready-to-ship platforms, railings, ladders, stairs and bridges. The range of components and sizes makes it easy to meet any safety and/or structural need quickly. All ReadySeries pre-engineered, modular materials are made of Bedford’s fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) for extreme durability, and they meet all OSHA guidelines. Because ReadySeries materials can be combined into almost limitless configurations, they’re ideal for industrial platforms, mezzanines, catwalks, fixed ladders, handrails, guardrails, stairs, bridges and much more. Watch the ReadySeries video for a quick overview.

Is ReadyPlatform OSHA-compliant?

+

Yes, ReadyPlatform is an OSHA-compliant platform system. Each ReadyPlatform is pre-engineered to meet our standard specifications, OSHA guidelines and a pedestrian loading of 60 lbs per square foot. Components feature anti-slip surfaces, safety yellow coloring and fire-retardant resins. They’re all non-conductive and impact resistant for added safety. Plus, FRP outperforms steel and aluminum in many ways, particularly in terms of strength, safety, impact resistance and cost of ownership.

How do FRP modular work platforms compare to metal?

+

FRP outperforms metal in many ways, making an FRP industrial platform the ideal choice for a variety of applications. Unlike a steel platform, FRP won’t weaken over time due to rust and corrosion. FRP is also impact resistant and chemical resistant, plus, unlike steel and aluminum, FRP doesn’t conduct electricity, greatly reducing the risk of shock. In addition, FRP materials can be installed with ordinary tools, so no special skills, welding equipment or hot work permits are needed.

What are the available ReadyPlatform sizes?

+

The available footprint sizes are 3′ wide x 3′ long, 3′ wide x 6′ long, and 3′ wide x 9′ long. ReadyPlatform modular platform systems are available in 9″ height increments, ranging from 1′ 6″ to 6′ tall to meet a variety of platform, catwalk and crossover needs. These sections can be easily added together to form a range of shapes and sizes to meet your needs. You can also add ReadyStairReadyLadder and ReadyRail components for the ideal configuration.

How tall does ReadyPlatform go?

+

Currently, ReadyPlatform modular platform systems can go up to 6′ in height. They can be combined with ReadyStairReadyLadder and ReadyRail components to meet a range of platform, catwalk, mezzanine, walkway and crossover needs.

What loading is ReadyPlatform rated for?

+

ReadyPlatform is rated for pedestrian loading of 60 lbs per square foot (uniform load). All ReadyPlatform and other ReadySeries solutions meet OSHA guidelines and outperform steel and aluminum in many ways, particularly in terms of strength, safety, impact resistance and cost of ownership.

How long does ReadyPlatform take to assemble?

+

While the time to assemble a ReadyPlatform solution varies by the configuration, amount of personnel and experience, in general a single ReadyPlatform system can be assembled within 1-2 hours with standard labor utilizing 1-2 people. Unlike with many metal platforms, no special skills, welding equipment or hot work permits are needed. Just follow these simple steps to put together your ReadyPlatform.

What maintenance needs to be performed on ReadyPlatform?

+

All FRP materials, including ReadyPlatform, require little to no maintenance because FRP doesn’t rust, corrode, rot or warp. No painting is needed because the color is embedded throughout and protected by ReadyShield UV-resistant protective coating to maintain the appearance and structural integrity. Because ReadyPlatform modular components are resistant to heat, high winds, rain, snow, saltwater and chemicals, they can handle the harsh conditions that metal can’t.

How long can we expect a ReadySeries system to last?

+

Install it and forget it. While local factors can affect longevity, we have composite structures that have been in use for over three decades and are still going strong. FRP is resistant to heat, high winds, rain, snow, saltwater and chemicals, plus it won’t shrink, swell, warp, corrode, dent or attract insects. Expect your ReadySeries structure to stand the test of time.

How soon can I expect my ReadyPlatform?

+

All ReadySeries materials live up to their “ready” name, so your ReadyPlatform will be ready to ship within 2-3 business days. This is dependent on supply, but we keep a large inventory to ensure that your materials can be ready for quick shipping to wherever you need them.
