New California Warehouse Now Open

Bedford has opened a new warehouse in Corona, California, through distributor Peabody Engineering. This location will stock a variety of the most popular PROForms® structural shapes, as well as PROGrid® and PROGrate® grating, for faster West Coast delivery. Fabrication services are also available through this location.

ALREADY COMPLETING PROJECTS
Peabody Engineering recently completed a project for the City of San Diego using Bedford products. The City wanted to create a confined space training facility for city employees to simulate entry into enclosed tanks, pipelines and more. As part of this facility, Peabody Engineering designed and built one 8-ft. platform and one 15-ft. platform.

MEETING CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
The outdoor platforms needed to be non-conductive and resistant to San Diego’s corrosive saltwater environment, so Bedford’s pultruded fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) profiles were an ideal choice. Peabody designed and fabricated custom roofs using Bedford PROForms structural profiles to handle seismic and wind load requirements.

FAST INSTALLATION
Each structure was entirely assembled in Peabody’s Corona facility. Once complete, the roof, mounting components, OSHA-compliant handrails and stairs were removed for shipping, and the platforms were loaded on three specially permitted trucks for shipping to San Diego’s Water Department Service Facility. Both platforms were installed in just a few hours and the customer loved the result, getting everything they asked for in their design parameters.
